Job description

Floor Manager

The ideal candidate is organized, responsible, punctual, self-motivated,warm, hospitable, and above all a team player.The candidate shouldwork well in a fast-paced environment, multitask efficiently,have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Additionally, they shouldhave a demonstrable interest, knowledge, and passion for food and hospitality.

Essential Job Functions

  • Oversee Front of house departments and daily restaurant operations
  • Uphold company standards of customer service, health and safety regulations, and company policies and procedures
  • Cultivate customer relations, answer questions, address complaints, and ensure prompt service and satisfaction.
  • Oversee the balancing of cash drawers, record income, and expenditures
  • Monitor restaurant supply, food, and beverage inventories, and communicate inventory status to purchasers
  • Lead daily pre-shifts meetings, encourage employee feedback, and incentivize service sales
  • Foster a communicative and open work environment
  • Ensure an organized, smooth and efficient service for guests and staff by being present and proactive on the floor
  • Coach staff to converse about menu offerings, product sourcing, and culinary preparation techniques
  • Oversee proper management of VIP reservations with the Hauser & Wirth Art Gallery
  • Delegate work duties, maintain schedules and employee timecards, and maximize covers
  • “Fill in the gaps” when it comes to service
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, which includes the restaurant, loading dock, and all other work premises
  • Communicate daily service notes, employee performance, operational or customer service concerns with other managers

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and set-up of events
  • Supervise and direct event staff
  • Order stock and perform various administrative duties.
  • Assist in staff counseling or performance reviews
  • Assist with the coordination of staff tours and gallery events

Experience, and License Requirements

  • Management experience in a team-oriented workplace preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, lead, and develop staff members.
  • Exceptional organizational management skills.
  • Skills and knowledge in: Excel, Micros, and Outlook
  • Food Handler and TIPS/Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification
