Job description

Central Regional Hospital

We are currently recruiting for a first shift Floor Maintenance Supervisor I at Central Regional Hospital. The primary purpose of this position is to direct and assist in the cleaning and maintenance of various types of floor surfaces and other specialized projects for Central Regional Hospital and JUH Annex South Campus. Job duties include but are not limited to:

1. Supervise 4 to 8 employees in floor care (i.e., stripping, refinishing, and shampooing carpet).
2. Schedule all the floor finishing and stripping.
3. Ensure daily upkeep of all floors at CRH and JUH Annex South Campus.

This is a full-time position eligible for the full State benefits package, including health insurance and retirement. Flexibility in work schedule is required to meet hospital needs. This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather. Hours are 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, including every other weekend and holiday as scheduled.

Qualifications

• Ability to establish priorities, deadlines, and goals for projects and ensure completion.
• Ability to lead training on new products and cleaning procedures, research testing new products, and create data sheets and labels.
• Ability to evaluate employees.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience in floor maintenance and equipment.

ADA requirements will be discussed during the interview.

Management Preference

• Previous supervisory experience.

Qualified candidates must demonstrate the ability to qualify through education, experience, or a combination thereof, in accordance with the state's experience guide (oshr.nc.gov/experience-guide).

Educational/Experience Requirements

Education and/or experience in floor maintenance directly related to the job, equivalent to two years in a commercial or institutional setting.
