Job summary

Nox Metals in Detroit/Los Angeles seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to improve safety, throughput, and quality on the factory floor. You will design tooling, layouts, work instructions, and data systems to turn aluminum into on-time customer shipments.

You are hands-on, safety-first, analytical, and able to explain changes clearly to operators and leadership; experience with CAD/CNC and lean methods is a plus, willing to test ideas and implement practical improvements.

Qualifications

• Hands-on factory floor experience is essential.
• Strong safety mindset with attention to risk reduction.
• Analytical approach to root causes and process improvement.
• Ability to read and create technical drawings and docs.

Responsibilities

• Improve safety, quality, throughput, uptime, and material flow.
• Study production constraints and translate observations into improvements.
• Design tooling, fixtures, layouts, and operator workstations.
• Create and maintain work instructions and standard processes.
• Support equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and ramp-up.
• Investigate defects and downtime via root-cause analysis.
• Build production metrics and verify improvements deliver results.
• Partner with operators, maintenance, quality, software, and leadership.
• Train teams on new processes and incorporate floor feedback.
• Support production during urgent safety or delivery issues.
