Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• One year of experience in floor care with primary responsibilities in carpet maintenance and hard surface cleaning.
• Equivalency notes: a combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
• Ability to read and understand operating manuals for cleaning equipment.
• Ability to operate floor cleaning equipment after training.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance checks on all equipment prior to use.
• Secure the work area and post safety notices for others.
• Installs and replaces carpet and tile throughout the building as necessary.
• Cleans and maintains hard surfaces, carpeted areas, and upholstery.
• Mops, buffs, and burnishes hard surface floors.
• Vacuums, shampoos, bonnets, and extracts carpets and upholstery.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and schedules maintenance.
• Monitors floors for cleanliness and damage, secures equipment after use.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
