Floor Care Technicians are generally responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surfaces, carpeted areas, and upholstered furniture within the Baltimore Convention Center. Work involves no supervisory responsibilities. Employees receive moderate supervision from the Operations Crew Leaders and Operations Supervisors. Employees in this class work on a rotating shift basis. Work is performed primarily in building interiors where there are no hazardous conditions. Work requires moderate physical exertion. The work of this individual involves evening, weekend, holiday, shift-work, and occasional mandatory overtime.
Education: High School Diploma or GED Certificate.*Commensurate experience will be considered in lieu of high school diploma* AND Experience: One year of experience in floor care with primary responsibilities in carpet maintenance and hard surface cleaning OR Equivalency Notes: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint screening, and must be successfully completed.
All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a 6 MONTH mandatory probation.
