Job summary

The City of Maypearl seeks a qualified professional to serve as Floodplain Administrator under NFIP and manage the CRS program and MS4 permit compliance. You will review floodplain permits, elevation certificates, and map change submittals, and assist with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and capital drainage projects.

Responsibilities include aiding the Drainage Engineer, supporting citizens and developers, and providing technical guidance to regional partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Water Resources Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of drainage, floodplain or stormwater experience.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• CFM certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Experience with civil engineering and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS).
• Proficiency in GIS.
• Familiarity with City drainage design criteria and TxDOT Hydraulic Design Manual.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Strong public speaking and communication skills.
• Preferred: Texas Professional Engineer (P.E.) with 5 years drainage experience.
• Preferred: CAD review capability for engineering plans.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the City's Floodplain Administrator under NFIP and the City's Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance.
• Administer the City's CRS program and ensure compliance with the MS4 permit.
• Review floodplain development permits, elevation certificates, LOMC submittals, and substantial improvements/damages.
• Assist the City Drainage Engineer with drainage plan reviews and hydrology/hydraulic analyses.
• Assist citizens, developers, and real estate professionals with FEMA flood maps and drainage questions.
• Provide technical assistance to regional drainage partners and watershed groups.
