Job summary

City of Maypearl seeks a Utilities Engineer to oversee civil engineering tasks related to development, capital improvements, and operations for water, wastewater, drainage and transportation projects. You will coordinate with Georgetown Utility Systems, assess availability using modeling tools, and supervise field inspections while maintaining documentation and meeting deadlines.

The role requires a civil engineering degree, EIT/PE credentials, and strong communication skills for

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
E.I.T. certification preferred within 6 months of hire.
PE license preferred for senior level.

Responsibilities

Review construction plans for compliance with City standards and water/wastewater/drainage/transportation plans.
Coordinate current and long-range utility systems planning with Georgetown Utility Systems.
Assess water, fire flow, and wastewater availability using city modeling software and consultants.
Oversee field inspections; coordinate with inspectors; conduct pre-construction conferences.
Serve as project coordinator and primary contact for applicants and internal/external customers.
Manage projects and prepare Development Review Committee memos and staff reports.
Provide notifications and presentations to Boards, Commissions, and City Council.
Maintain project tracking system and required documentation; ensure deadlines are met.
