Job summary

Maricopa County's Flood Control District in Phoenix seeks an Inspector in the Floodplain Permitting division to perform field inspections and enforce floodplain regulations. You will evaluate plans, verify compliance, and respond to inquiries from property owners, engineers, and permittees.

The role requires two years of inspector or related construction experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to obtain an Arizona driver's license.

Qualifications

• Two years of inspector experience or two years in engineering/construction fields.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and identify violations and compliance issues in the field.
• Ensure sand and gravel mining and new construction activities comply with approved plans and permits.
• Manage compliance cases, track due dates, and maintain files.
• Respond to inquiries and provide guidance on Floodplain Regulations and plan review requirements.
