Maricopa County Flood Control District is seeking an Inspector for the Floodplain Permitting division. You will perform field inspections to enforce Floodplain Regulations, investigate citizen concerns, and regulate sand and gravel mining in compliance with development plans.

A valid Arizona driver’s license is required by hire. You’ll work in office and field settings, with benefits including tuition reimbursement, flexible schedules, and a defined retirement program.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as an inspector or two years in engineering/construction fields.
• High school Diploma or GED; substitution allowed with additional education/experience.
• Valid Arizona driver's license by time of hire; MSHA Mine Safety class and certification desired.

Responsabilités

• Conduct inspections and identify violations and compliance issues in the field.
• Ensure, through field inspections, sand and gravel mining and new construction follow approved plans.
• Manage compliance cases, keep files up to date, track due dates.
• Answer inquiries about Floodplain Regulations, drainage, plan reviews, and floodplain management.
• Perform initial site assessments after flooding events and investigate citizen calls.
