Job summary

Salt Lake County is seeking a Civil Engineer with expertise in water resources to design and oversee flood control projects, hydraulic modeling, and related analyses. You will work under senior engineers, manage construction activities, and coordinate with multiple county divisions and external consultants.

The position requires a PE license in Utah (or ability to obtain within six months), plus CFM certification or commitment to achieve it within a year.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering required.
PE license in Utah or ability to become licensed within six months.
CFM certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

Prepare engineering designs and oversee construction for flood control facilities.
Perform hydraulic and hydrologic analyses and modeling.
Coordinate with other county divisions, consultants, and public stakeholders.
Review permits, agreements, and proposals; manage project budgets and timelines.
Assist in developing master plans and five/ten-year capital programs.
