Job summary

County of Riverside's Flood Control District seeks an Associate Civil Engineer to perform varied flood control engineering tasks across planning, design, construction, and operations. You will lead project teams, review designs, and ensure compliance with codes while applying hydrology and hydraulic analyses.

The role requires a California PE license, a civil engineering degree, and 2+ years of related experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related field.
Two years of professional civil engineering experience with relevant areas.
Valid PE license in California is required.

Responsibilities

Assign work, give instructions and resolve engineering and administrative problems in planning, design and construction of projects.
Direct activities of office engineers in analyzing field data and preparing plans, profiles, maps and drawings.
Perform or review stress analyses of bridges and hydraulic structures; evaluate proposed buildings and structures.
Review plans for conformity to codes, ordinances, regulations and policies.
Advise permit applicants on engineering and technical issues; participate in training programs for inspectors and technicians.
Supervise preparation of structural drawings, specifications and contract documents for bids.
Provide technical information to officials, other engineers and the public.
Coordinate with public utilities on relocation and right-of-way matters.
Maintain records on surveys, construction progress, expenditures and change orders.
Supervise progress payments and final estimates on contracts.
