Job summary

Perdue Foods is seeking a Flock Advisor to serve as the trusted link between the company and contract producers, overseeing poultry inventory and ensuring steady supply across the route. You’ll build strong relationships, support flock health, and help drive live production excellence.

A personal company vehicle will be provided for this role, with personal-use allowed under policy guidelines. The position emphasizes teamwork, safety, and efficient operations on-site in Virginia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science or Agribusiness Management or equivalent work experience.
• 1–3 years related experience.
• Experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with no points.
• Good customer service skills.
• Strong reading, math, writing communication skills (oral and written), analytical skills and a statistical background.

Responsibilities

• Work with assigned contract producers to improve company profitability by implementing production programs and documenting producer compliance.
• Maintain route square footage to meet sales demands and ensure poultry welfare and food safety standards are met.
• Monitor chick placements, bird weights, flock movements, mortality and feed inventories; assess bird health and coordinate vaccinations and treatments.
• Support other departments by maintaining open communication between all parties on the route.
• Comply with biosecurity, food safety and poultry welfare programs and policies at all times.
• Operate company vehicle safely and in accordance with policies.
• Coordinate with producers, vendors and subcontractors on construction and renovations of poultry facilities.
