Job summary

West Ohio Community Action Partnership (WOCAP) is seeking a Floating Teacher to support Child Development Services. The role is 40 hours per week for 9 months each year, with responsibilities spanning lesson planning, family coordination, and ensuring health-related services for children.

The position requires a HS diploma or GED, plus an AA in Early Childhood Education or a valid CDA with enrollment in a program to complete an associate or higher degree within three years.

Qualifications

• Must pass drug screen and background check.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AA degree in Early Childhood Education or valid CDA and enrollment in a program that leads to an associate or higher degree in Early Childhood Education/related field within three years.
• CPR, First-Aid, and certifications in Child Abuse & Neglect, Communicable Disease must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Develop and educate each Child Development Services child to their fullest potential using the latest curriculum.
• Create weekly lesson plans and daily planning.
• Assist children and families by coordinating, facilitating, enrollment, and provision of individual services in line with standards and policies.
• Ensure children receive health-related services by connecting to resources and providing follow-up support; transport as needed and report difficulties within 30 days.
• Float between classrooms and travel to other sites as needed to perform responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• 1. Developing and educating each Child Development Services child to their fullest potential byutilizing the latest curriculum.
• 2. Making weekly lesson plans and daily planning.
• 3. Assist the children & families by ensuring coordination, facilitation, identification, enrollment, andprovision of individual services in accordance with Child Development Services PerformanceStandards, licensing regulations, and WOCAP policies & procedures.
• 4. Ensure that all children receive required health related services by connecting them to resources,providing follow-up support services and identifying and removing barriers to needed services. Thisincludes expectations to transport families to appointments, report difficulties to supervisors inwriting, and ensuring follow-up within 30 days.
• 5. Float positions require moving between classrooms as needed per day, including traveling toanother site to perform the same responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

• MUST be able to pass drug screen and background check.
• Candidate must possess High School Diploma or GED.
• MUST have an AA degree inEarly Childhood Education OR valid CDA AND be enrolled in a program that grants aqualifying associate or higher degree in Early Childhood Education/related field, andthe required coursework and experience, to be completed within three years.
• Certifications in Child Abuse & Neglect, Communicable Disease, CPR, and First-Aidmust be maintained.
• Valid Ohio driver's license, current vehicle insurance, and privately-owned vehicle during working hours preferred. Ability to check electronic mail, entering data into program-specific software for required reports, and Internet skills required.
