Hazen Union School District is seeking a Floating Support Staff member to act as a full-time substitute for school employees when they are absent.
A floating support staff member will primarily substitute teach, perform support, and/or clerical duties as assigned. A floating support staff member will work in the absence of our regular school employees, supervising and aiding students daily. This position falls under the Support Staff Master Agreement. Hourly earnings are determined in Appendix B of the current Support Staff Master Agreement, available on the OSSU website.

The skills needed to support a structured environment and encourage self-directed learning.
A certificate in teaching is a plus, but not required.
High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
The age requirement is 21 years or older to work with students in grades 7-12.
Applicants without at least 38 college credits will be required to obtain Highly Qualified status, testing materials, and time provided.
Detail-oriented and able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Able to communicate effectively with other personnel and faculty.
Able to cultivate relationships with pupils in a brief period.
Confidence and capability in instructing in the absence of the regular teacher.
Willing and able to work standing for most of the day, with few breaks to sit with outdoor assignments as needed.
Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Google platforms and data entry.
The ability to pass a full background check.
