Job Description
Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union (OSSU) is seeking a part-time Special Educator for one year. OSSU is seeking an innovative, enthusiastic, and collaborative professional to join us. Applicants seeking full-time employment and who hold both an Early Childhood Special Educator endorsement and a Special Education Grades K-Age 21 endorsement may be considered if two part-time positions are available.

We are seeking professionals with demonstrated leadership, organization, and problem-solving expertise who share our passion for an integrated special education service delivery model within a multi-tiered system of support. The ideal candidates will demonstrate experience working with general education teachers to facilitate universally designed lessons, knowledge of special education rules and regulations, and a solid ability to integrate a variety of assessment information to support students.

-Case manages, coordinates, and provides an effective and efficient system of Special Education and Support Services designed to meet the needs of students on IEPs, or students with demonstrated behavior and/or learning problems that require intervention and instruction such as 504 plans or EST plans.

-Develop special education/MTSS systems that utilize staff more effectively as a member of the MTSS team.

-Mentor/support special educators

-Consult with teachers around children with complex learning profiles, provide screening assessments where needed
