Job summary

Young World Physical Education is seeking two full‑time Instructional Assistants (IA) assigned to Burke Town School for the 2026‑2027 school year. The role involves working in classrooms with children aged 5 to 14, providing care and support to promote their academic and emotional growth.

These positions become available in the 2026-2027 school year. The candidates must be energetic and love working with children and being part of a school community. The IA candidates will have experience and/or the desire to provide care and support to children for growth and learning academic, social, emotional and behavioral skills. Ideal candidates will have experience serving children with special learning needs and/or who need support acquiring independent educational skills. The candidates will work closely with classroom teachers and/or special education case managers and are under the direction of the school administrator and the Director of Student Services. The individuals in this position support specialized instruction and other supports for students as assigned. Candidates must successfully complete the ParaPro assessment or higher degree. The Burke Town School is part of the Kingdom East School District, located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
