Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state of employment, as required in some states.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures; explains venipuncture process clearly.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders and transport them.
• Ensure OSHA/DEP regulations are followed; attendance at annual trainings.
• Answer inquiries and manage patient information accurately.
