Job summary

Professional Recruiting Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist for contract opportunities with potential for permanent placement in Northwest Indiana. The position covers multiple sites around Merrillville, with mileage expenses paid.

Schedule is 7am to 8pm, Monday through Friday, and the role supports a 3-month project duration with potential for extension. Responsibilities include blood collection, specimen labeling, processing, and proper transport.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures; ensures proper labeling and documentation.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper storage temperatures and transport integrity.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and participate in annual trainings.
• Answer phone inquiries and read laboratory results to satisfy requests.
