Banner Health is seeking a Pharmacist for its Banner Staffing Services in Mesa, AZ. The role centers on delivering pharmaceutical care in the retail and outpatient setting, accurately dispensing medications and maintaining records per regulations.

Qualifications

• Requires pharmacy licensure in state and a degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
• AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire.
• Immunization certification and/or licensure (if state requires) within 6 months of hire.
• BSS Registry Team members must have a Pharmacy license and Immunization Certification at time of hire/transfer.
• Must possess current BLS card.
• Must possess good organizational, problem solving and computer skills.
• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and other contacts.
• Must have knowledge of computer software, particularly medication management information system software, and Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Fills prescriptions accurately and timely; reviews orders for drug interactions and safety.
• Supervises and directs work of pharmacy technicians; coordinates workflow.
• Provides counseling to patients and families about medications; communicates with physicians and nurses.
• Oversees day-to-day operations including inventory and insurance interactions; records keeping.
• Consults with prescribers to ensure appropriate medication use and resolve issues.
• Oversees all aspects of medication use from procurement to storage and distribution.
