Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the Nursing Resource Pool in Norfolk, VA. The role supports multiple units, handles vital signs, mobility, phlebotomy, EKGs, and specimen collection, while maintaining patient safety under RN supervision.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus a BLS certification within 90 days and preferred healthcare experience. This is a full-time on-site role with shift 7:00am–7:00pm in the first shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• One year of health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care, assist with activities of daily living.
• Monitor and document vital signs and patient condition.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, EKGs, and specimen collection.
