Job summary

Allina Health in Owatonna is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Float Pool. This part-time role involves 12-hour day/night shifts and a 60-hour two-week schedule, with every third weekend rotation. Under RN/MD supervision, you will assist with vital signs, activities of daily living, and patient transfers.

The position emphasizes accurate charting, prompt response to call lights, and collaboration with the care team to support safe, compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old (or 17 with HS diploma or GED)
• Completion of CNA program or nursing assistant academy or NREMT certification
• Previous direct patient care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Observe, collect, and document patient health data.
• Perform vital signs, daily living activities, and patient transfers under RN/physician supervision.
• Answer call lights promptly and assist with meals, grooming, and hygiene.
• Document care provided and assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Transport medications per policies and assist with rooming and moves.
• Support unit patients, visitors, and families with directions and safety.
