Qualifications

• High school diploma or certificate required.
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Venipuncture Certification.
• Working knowledge of appointment scheduling preferred.
• One year of experience in a physician’s office or clinic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients courteously and answer calls with proper etiquette.
• Schedule and update appointments following provider guidelines.
• Update patient information in NextGen and manage patient records.
• Process referrals and coordinate with providers and clinics.
• Assist with back-up reception and manage messages via EHR/NextGen.
• Administer medications and vaccines as ordered within scope of practice.
• Maintain infection control practices and a clean work area.
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
