Job summary

Madison Health in London, OH is seeking a Medical Assistant - Primary Care (Float) for a full-time day shift. The role supports physicians and clinical staff in delivering patient care and handles intake and documentation.

You will perform in-house labs, venipuncture, injections, room preparation, scheduling, and patient communication, with opportunities for professional development and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred or equivalent experience in a primary care setting.
• BLS certification within 30 days of employment required.

Responsibilities

• Assists physician, nurse practitioner or other clinical staff in preparation of patients for examination/procedure.
• Performs in-house laboratory tests and venipuncture.
• Assists in direct patient care procedures and performs related diagnostic tests.
• Cleans exam rooms, restocks inventory and manages stock rotation.
• Retrieves patient messages and routes physician orders; handles prescription refills with pharmacy as appropriate.
• Schedules appointments, tests and referrals; handles pre-certifications and pre-authorizations.
• Greet patients, collect insurance/demographic information and enter data into IHIS; assist with payment discussions.
