Job summary

New Narrative in Portland, OR seeks a Housing Navigator to connect unhoused individuals to housing and community services. This floating role works across SHS programs, meeting participants in their homes, in the field, and at program sites.

You will assess needs, develop action plans for income growth and housing stability, coordinate mental health, legal assistance, benefits, and housing supports, and maintain confidential records.

Qualifications

• Preferred: QMHA and/or PWS credentials.
• Maintain current Oregon driver’s license and required auto insurance.
• Experience with HMIS or Credible a plus.
• Harm Reduction program experience a plus.
• Housing First programing experience a plus.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to participants transitioning from street to housing.
• Intervene in crises, promote stability and assist with housing stability.
• Assess individual strengths, risks, and needs.
• Develop action plans to promote income growth and housing stability.
• Coordinate wrap-around services (mental health, legal, benefits, health care).
• Engage assertively to encourage participation and follow-through.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
