Job summary

J-Bear Child Development Center in Mooresville, NC is seeking a flexible Floater Teacher to support multiple age groups across the school day. You will help maintain staffing, supervise children, assist Lead and Assistant Teachers, and engage children with age-appropriate activities in a warm, nurturing environment.

The role requires NC childcare credentials, ITS/SIDS training, CPR & First Aid certification, and the ability to work Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Must meet North Carolina childcare requirements.
• ITS/SIDS training is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Early childhood credentials required.
• Background screening must be completed.
• Must be able to work Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM.
• Willingness to work with all classroom age groups.

Responsibilities

• Step into classrooms as needed to maintain staffing and ratios.
• Provide active supervision to ensure children's safety.
• Assist Lead and Assistant Teachers with daily routines.
• Engage children with age-appropriate learning activities.
• Assist with meals, transitions, rest periods, diapering, and related care.
• Use positive guidance and developmentally appropriate management.
• Maintain clean, organized, welcoming classrooms.
• Adapt quickly to different schedules and classroom expectations.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
• Communicate with teachers and school leadership.
• Follow health, safety, licensing, and school requirements.
