Mary’s Place Seattle is seeking a part-time Floater Shelter Advocate to support two 24/7 shelter locations in Seattle. The role focuses on guest relations, operations and enrichment programming, with a strong emphasis on safety, equity, and trauma-informed care.

Evening and day shifts are available, with overnight shifts incurring a differential. The position requires a minimum of two shifts per two-week period, ability to commute to shelters, and flexibility for evenings/weekends.

Formación

• Two+ years of work or volunteer experience in a social services setting.
• Experience working in a shelter setting or with people experiencing homelessness.
• Passion for and demonstrated experience working with children and families.
• Demonstrated crisis management and conflict de-escalation skills.
• Understanding of trauma-informed care.

Responsabilidades

• Proactively create a welcoming and affirming environment, engage families in high-quality shelter services.
• Engage guests in conversations around housing goals and assist resource navigation.
• Maintain a calm, affirming demeanor and model professional boundaries.
• Address behavioral challenges and provide trauma-informed crisis management.
• Collaborate with staff for consistent, high-quality service delivery.
• Welcome and orient new families to shelter and complete intake documents.
