Job summary

Neighborhood House is seeking an adaptable Float Program Leader for after-school care for children ages 5–12 in Portland, Oregon. You will help develop daily curriculum, support social and emotional development, and stand in as substitute program coordinator when needed. Reliability, initiative, and strong teamwork are essential.

You will work across multiple sites and engage families, while adhering to licensing rules and program standards, with a focus on safety and positive youth development.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of childhood development and general principles of K-5th grade education.
• Experience writing and teaching curriculum.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach curriculum for after-school program.
• Maintain 15:1 student ratio and supervise activities.
• Collaborate with Program Coordinator to plan lessons.
• Train and mentor new staff and substitutes.
• Communicate with parents about each child’s day.
• Ensure site readiness and licensing compliance.
