Woodcraft Rangers is seeking an After‑School Program Leader (Floater) to provide flexible support across program sites, helping with staff absences and fluctuating enrollment. Roles include guiding groups of around 20 children in a safe, engaging learning environment and building meaningful connections with youth.

The position emphasizes adaptability, travel between sites, and availability for short‑notice scheduling, with hours varying by enrollment and location.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree in Child Development, Education, or related field preferred.
• Availability to work 1:00 PM–6:00 PM, Monday–Friday.
• Experience in expanded learning programs or after-school settings preferred.
• Ability to pass an assessment in math, reading comprehension, and spelling.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel between sites; travel typically limited to one site per day.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Foster a safe and supportive environment for students.
• Promote an inclusive, welcoming culture among participants, staff, and families.
• Plan and lead age‑appropriate activities supporting whole‑child development.
• Monitor student attendance and participation for consistent engagement.
• Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Collaborate with staff to plan events and celebrate participant achievements.
• Request program materials to ensure availability and budget adherence.
• Comply with safety procedures, emergency protocols, trainings, and certifications.
• Attend off‑site field trips as needed.
• Maintain accurate daily attendance records.
• Participate in ~15 hours of professional development across spring weekends and intersession days.
