Job summary

Genesee Lake School is seeking a Float- SPED Teacher to provide specialized instruction across classrooms and settings. The role functions as a co-teacher and adapts to evolving needs rather than a single classroom assignment.

You will support IEP development, lead meetings when needed, and maintain accurate progress and documentation while collaborating with families and therapists. A collaborative, trauma-informed approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field required.
• State Teaching Certification in Special Education or General Education, or eligible for alternate/provisional licensure.
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and with families.

Responsibilities

• Review records of incoming students and prepare to include them in the classroom.
• Serve as temporary IEP case manager when needed; ensure IEPs are updated and aligned with student needs.
• Collaborate with families, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to support IEP development and service delivery.
• Help lead IEP meetings, maintain compliance, and monitor progress toward student goals.
• Complete necessary paperwork, lesson plans, and data weekly; meet deadlines.
• Provide leadership to staff supporting the classroom and promote a positive learning environment.
• Develop and implement individualized Education and Crisis Cycle plans for students as needed.
