Job summary

Genesee Lake School is seeking a Float- Special Education Teacher to support students with disabilities across multiple classrooms and settings. The float role provides flexible coverage to meet evolving needs and collaborates with families, therapists, and teams to deliver trauma-informed, student-centered instruction.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field with state certification or eligibility for provisional licensure, and demonstrates strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• State Teaching Certification in Special Education or General Education (or eligible for alternative/provisional licensure).
• Strong communication, empathy, team leadership, and trauma-informed, student-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Review records of incoming students and prepare to include them in the classroom.
• Step in as a temporary IEP case manager when needed, ensuring IEPs are updated and aligned with student needs.
• Collaborate with families, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to support IEP development and service delivery.
• Lead IEP meetings, monitor progress and document goals.
• Complete paperwork, daily lesson plans, instructional data, behavior data, and weekly summaries on schedule.
