Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a clinically competent Registered Nurse for Procedural/Pre-Post Units as part of the NM Internal Agency Float. The role covers acutely ill patients using nursing processes across NM hospital locations.

The position requires IL RN licensure, two years of inpatient experience, and BLS/ACLS/PALS. Typical schedule is full-time days with 36 hrs/week (0.9 FTE) and benefits, across NM system hospitals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of inpatient med/surg, stepdown or ICU experience.
• CPR – Basic Life Support
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate with others
• Strong analytic abilities
• ADN with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of employment.
• ACLS and PALS certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies expected outcomes, develops and implements an individualized plan, coordinates care delivery and evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes.
• Directs care and determines the appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in providing direct patient care.
• Collaborates with patient, family and/or significant others, physicians and ancillary staff; creates a documented plan focused on outcomes.
• Participates in shared decision making, committee work, and unit projects.
• Evaluates and documents the patient’s responses to nursing interventions in the health record and personalizes the plan of care.
• Utilizes the best available evidence, including research findings to guide practice decisions.
