Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a Float RN to provide patient care across 65+ inpatient units in a fast-paced academic medical center environment. The role supports multiple units and requires strong clinical leadership and adaptability.

This full-time position features 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM) with a $15/hour float differential and additional shift differentials as applicable. Opportunities for growth, education, and advancement are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Current RN license.
• Minimum 2 years acute care Medical-Surgical experience.
• Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a variety of clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver.
• Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
