Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital, part of BJC HealthCare, seeks a Float RN to provide direct care across 65+ inpatient units on 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM). The role offers a $15/hour float differential plus applicable shift differentials and opportunities for learning and career advancement.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years acute care Med-Surg experience, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to work independently in diverse clinical settings.

Qualifications

• Current RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a variety of clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment and educates on illness management and home care.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance; engages in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient/family.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Acknowledges safety-sensitive nature of position and maintains constant state of alertness as required.
