Job summary

Ebenezer seeks a Float Resident Assistant to join the corporate float nursing team at the Ebenezer corporate office. The role moves to assigned Ebenezer Assisted Living communities to provide personal care and health-related services to residents’ wellbeing.

The position supports on-call, day/evening/overnight shifts with minimum scheduling commitments, including weekend shifts and one holiday per year.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to use technology such as computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines.
• Less than 1 year of prior experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal cares (bathing, dressing, grooming).
• Provide health-related services under RN direction (blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration).
• Take vitals and document health status under supervision.
• Assist with meals, laundry, and housekeeping tasks.
• Support resident social and recreational activities and observe for changes.

Job Overview

Ebenezer is looking for a Float Resident Assistant to join our corporate float nursing team with the Ebenezer corporate office! This position floats to assigned Ebenezer Assisted Living communities to provide personal care and designated health-related services to enhance and/or maintain the residents' physical and emotional wellbeing.

This Float caregiver schedule includes;

• On Call/Casual
• Day, Evening and Overnight (NOC) shifts available
• To maintain Casual status, employees must be willing to be available to work a minimum of three (3) shifts per month (two shifts must be weekend shifts) and one (1) Holiday shift per year. The weekend starts with the beginning of the night shift on Friday and ends with the beginning of the night shift on Sunday

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to:
• Bathing/showering
• Foot and fingernail care
• Shaving
• Dressing
• Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses
• Hair care
• Feeding
• Toileting
• Escorts
• 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift
• Provides health-related services as directed:
• Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. (includes blood glucose monitoring)
• Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections).
• Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Performs specified home services:
• Performs laundry service per schedule.
• Follows cleaning schedule for the shift worked.
• Delivers meal trays.
• Assists with meal service in dining room.
• Assists with preparing for and/or facilitating resident social and recreational activities as assigned and as requested.
• Observes residents and reports status to appropriate staff.
• Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions such as change in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, change in weight.
• Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment
• Offers pertinent observations and input.
• Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.
