Job summary

York Gardens is seeking compassionate caregivers to support residents in a warm assisted living community. You will provide personal care, assist with medications under RN supervision, and help with daily activities to promote residents' wellbeing.

Role requires ability to work with technology and adapt to changing resident needs. Training and support are provided to maintain high standards of care. This on-site position contributes to a friendly, collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of caregiving experience.
• Ability to use technology (computers, handheld devices, cell phones, fax).
• If under 18, must be MN NA registry and restrictions apply for medication handling.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal cares (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting).
• Support with medications under RN direction (incl. insulin injections).
• Take vital signs and document observations under RN supervision.
• Provide health-related services per care plan.
• Support residents with meals, dining room assistance, and meal trays.
• Assist with transfers using mechanical lift as needed.
• Observe changes in residents and report to staff.

Job Overview

York Gardens - We have 76 Assisted Living, Memory Care and Enhanced Care apartments in a warm, friendly, convenient community.

This position is responsible for providing personal care and designated health-related services to enhance and/or maintain the residents' physical and emotional wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to:
• Bathing/showering
• Foot and fingernail care
• Shaving
• Dressing
• Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses
• Hair care
• Feeding
• Toileting
• Escorts
• 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift
• Provides health-related services as directed: Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. (includes blood glucose monitoring)
• Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections). Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Performs specified home services:
• Performs laundry service per schedule.
• Follows cleaning schedule for the shift worked.
• Delivers meal trays.
• Assists with meal service in dining room.
• Assists with preparing for and/or facilitating resident social and recreational activities as assigned and as requested.
• Observes tenants/residents and reports status to appropriate staff.
• Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions such as change in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, change in weight.
• Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment
• Offers pertinent observations and input.
• Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.

• If under 18 must be on the MN NA registry and site must be able to manage restrictions that they are not able to pass medications or operate a mechanical lift independently.
