Job summary

Quality Correctional Care (QCC) seeks passionate nurses to deliver comprehensive healthcare to justice‑involved patients across Central Indiana facilities. You will administer medications, perform intakes, and respond to sick calls while collaborating with the medical team.

The role requires Indiana RN licensure (or compact) and CPR certification, with the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Weekend and shift flexibility is available.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, and deliver comprehensive nursing care to incarcerated patients.
  • Administer medications and manage pharmacology considerations.
  • Perform medical intakes and evaluate fitness for incarceration.
  • Respond to sick calls and coordinate with the medical team.
  • Lead life‑saving measures during emergencies.
  • Provide patient education on health concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Nursing Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, and deliver comprehensive healthcare to patients by providing the following:
    • Administer medications
    • Perform medical intakes and assess if patient is fit for incarceration, as needed
    • Respond to sick call requests and follow up with the medical provider when needed
    • Check and/or change medical dressings as required by the medical provider
    • Perform 14‑day physicals
    • Manage chronic care
    • Provide patient education on health concerns
    • Respond to medical emergencies and lead life‑saving measures
    • Maintain working knowledge of pharmacology, including drug reactions/overdose, formulary/non‑formulary medications, and medication costs
    • Provide guidance to Medically Trained Personnel, as needed
    • Comply with all current and future state, federal, and local laws and regulations
Location

Floating to various correctional facilities throughout Central Indiana. Candidate must live in the state of Indiana or nearby in a neighboring state.

Shift Openings

Availability for dayshift or nightshift and weekends. Travel accommodations provided with potential for company vehicle, as well.

Requirements
  • Valid RN Indiana or Compact licensure
  • Valid CPR certification
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to push, pull, reach, and bend frequently
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
