Job summary

Quality Correctional Care (QCC) is seeking a licensed practical nurse to provide comprehensive medical and mental health services across Central Indiana correctional facilities. The role emphasizes compassionate, holistic patient care, with shifts including days, nights, and weekends.

Candidate must hold LPN Indiana licensure or compact, CPR certification, and be able to stand for extended periods while lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

Provide comprehensive nursing care to incarcerated patients.
Perform assessments, plan care, and deliver treatments.
Maintain pharmacology knowledge including formulary medications and costs.

Responsibilities

Administer medications and conduct 14‑day physicals.
Respond to sick calls and follow up with providers.
Manage chronic care and provide patient education.
Respond to medical emergencies and lead life-saving measures when needed.
Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Nursing Responsibilities:

Assess, plan, and deliver comprehensive healthcare to patients by providing the following:
- Administer medications
- Perform medical intakes and assess if patient is fit for incarceration, as needed
- Respond to sick call requests and follow up with the medical provider when needed
- Check and/or change medical dressings as required by the medical provider
- Performing 14‑day physicals
- Managing chronic care
- Providing patient education on health concerns
- Responding to medical emergencies
  - Be capable of performing life‑saving measures and ability to take charge and give direction in an emergency.
Maintain working knowledge of pharmacology, including but not limited to drug reaction/overdose, formulary/non‑formulary medications, and knowledge of medication costs
Be able to provide insight and direction to Medically Trained Personnel, as needed.
Comply with all current and future state, federal, and local laws and regulations
