Job summary

Saint Luke’s seeks a Sterile Processing Technician for our system float pool, with day shifts and a Monday–Friday schedule. The role rotates through metro hospital locations (Lee’s Summit, Overland Park, North Kansas City, Plaza).

You will sterilize, assemble instrument sets, and document sterility per AORN, AAMI, and Joint Commission standards while supporting ongoing learning and professional development.

Qualifications

• Applicable Experience: Less than 1 year

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the processing, sterilization, and documentation related to sterility of patient care supplies instruments and equipment used throughout the hospital in accordance with the AORN Standards of Practice
• Prepares and assembles instrument sets and surgery trays using count sheets
• Verifies proper function and integrity of instruments
• Labels instruments correctly and returns them to their proper location
• Efficient in the quality execution of instrumentation that is directly related to patient safety and department efficiencies
• Familiar with AAMI Joint Commission and APIC standards related to infection control
