Job Description The Opportunity: Saint Luke’s is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for our system float pool. Shift Details

This is a day position. 8 hour shifts M-F. This position will float between our metro hospital locations in Lee’s Summit, Overland Park, North Kansas City, and Plaza areas. Schedules are written 8 – 10 weeks in advance but flexible based on needs. This position works the day shift from Monday Through Friday.

The Work

• Responsible for the processing, sterilization, and documentation related to sterility of patient care supplies instruments and equipment used throughout the hospital in accordance with the AORN Standards of Practice
• Prepares and assembles instrument sets and surgery trays using count sheets
• Verifies proper function and integrity of instruments
• Labels instruments correctly and returns them to their proper location
• Efficient in the quality execution of instrumentation that is directly related to patient safety and department efficiencies
• Familiar with AAMI Joint Commission and APIC standards related to infection control
