Job summary

Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Float Pool. This part-time role requires flexible scheduling with 24 hours per week, 7a-7p, and rotating weekends and holidays, supporting patient care across units.

The RN will demonstrate independent planning, organize care, administer medications, and coordinate with the healthcare team while meeting NH Nurse Practice Act requirements. The role includes mandatory in-services and annual competencies.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• (RN) NH or compact state RN licensure.
• Associate Degree in Nursing.
• 1–3 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates critical thinking and leadership in planning care.
• Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs.
• Carries out physician orders.
• Administers medications and monitors vital signs.
• Coordinates care among disciplines for well-coordinated care.
• Documents patient condition using computerized systems.
• Instructs and educates patients and families.
• Assesses transfer planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Provides age- and culturally appropriate care.
• Follows Standard Precautions with PPE.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
