Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical/Float Pool in Boston. The RN will provide 24/7 clinical care across med/surg and IMCU areas, handling a variety of adult and pediatric cases after specialized training. Schedule is 36 hours per week, nights with every other weekend.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as an RN in Massachusetts.
• 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
• BLS certification; ACLS required in certain units.
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in Medical Surgical using patient-centered care.
• Communicate with health care team, patients, and families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities with inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines and policies of BMC’s nursing organization.
• Assist leadership in quality improvement projects.
