Job summary

Atrium Health Mercy Float Pool is hiring a part-time Registered Nurse to float across inpatient units within the facility. 24 hours per week with 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM shifts and 12-hour weekend (Saturday/Sunday) shifts. Requires RN licensure, BLS, and flexibility to float as needed.

The RN will apply nursing process, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with the care team to optimize outcomes. Prior inpatient experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active, unrestricted RN license with privileges in the state(s) served.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required by specialty.

Responsibilities

• Engages in governance and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Uses nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care.
• Monitors patient conditions and updates care plans with the team.
• Upholds a culture of safety and performance improvement.
• Administers medications and therapies per protocols.
• Communicates effectively and delegates appropriately.
• Pursues professional development and maintains certifications.
• Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics and ethics in care.
• Delegates to RNs, LPNs, and assistive personnel as needed.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units to meet patient care needs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific patient needs.
