Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Float Pool RN to coordinate and deliver compassionate patient care across med/surg, stepdown, observation, or ICU units. You will apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, while delegating and documenting responsibilities and educating patients and families.

The role offers flexible self-scheduling in a float pool setting. Minimum two years RN experience is required; BSN preferred, with Michigan licensure.

Qualifications

• RN with active licensure in the state of Michigan (per requirements).
• Experience in float pool nursing or multiple units preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead coordination and delivery of quality patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Delegate, supervise and document care and patient/family teaching.
• Communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team and participate in variance resolution.

Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively
communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions. Completes and signs “Request for Contingent Status: Conditions for Employment” specific to their contingent
option.

Unit Description:

All the Float Pool staff is assigned to either a med/surg, stepdown, observation, or ICU unit.Must have 2 years of RN experience.

The float pool allows for flexible self-scheduling. The RNs with the specific skill set can be assigned to Critical Care, otherwise any of the GPUs. Float Pool is also great for people who like change and not a repetitive routine of reporting to the same department every shift.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• BSN preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• The Float RNs are required to have 2 years of experience.
