Job summary

Portsmouth Regional Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking an RN for the float pool to provide high-quality patient care across units. You will operate under the NH Nurse Practice Act, completing mandated in‑services and competencies while maintaining clinical excellence.

The role requires an Associate Degree in Nursing and NH or compact RN licensure, plus ACLS/BCLS within 90/30 days respectively and 1–3 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• NH or compact RN licensure required within timeframes.
• Associate degree in Nursing is required.
• ACLS and BCLS must be obtained within specified days of start date.
• 1–3 years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates independence in planning, organizing, administering and evaluating patient care.
• Float pool staff cover units within their area per scheduling policies.
• Attend mandatory in-services and annual competencies.
• Administer medications, change dressings and monitor vital signs.
• Coordinate care with other disciplines for well‑coordinated patient care.
• Document patient status using computerized systems and communicate findings.
• Educate patients and families about care plans.
• Assist with patient transfer planning with healthcare team.
• Provide developmentally appropriate care for patients across ages.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
