Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice.
• 1-year minimum RN staff experience in medical/surgical or telemetry environment preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• Demonstrates an aptitude and willingness to learn new responsibilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently, make decisions, meet deadlines, multi-task and solve problems; working under a moderate to high degree of pressure.
• Experience with a hospital-based computer system.

Responsibilities

• Provides competent and compassionate nursing care by utilizing the nursing process and developing an individualized plan of care.
• Assesses patient needs across physical, psychosocial, cultural and discharge planning domains.
• Implements and coordinates the plan of care with the health care team.
• Delegates and provides nursing guidance to other team members.
• Formulates and updates the plan of care, including discharge planning.
• Documents all care activities clearly and timely in the patient record.
• Participates in evidence-based care and contributes to education and mentoring as appropriate.
