Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The role involves working across multiple units in the organization, with three 12-hour day shifts per week and weekend/holiday rotation.

Position offers a base pay range and additional differentials, plus benefits and professional development opportunities as part of a comprehensive rewards package. Earned time, loan reimbursement, tuition support, growth, and safety remain priorities.

Qualifications

• Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion.
• At least 1 year of RN experience, REQUIRED.
• Willingness to cross-train to many departments and achieve multiple competencies.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
• May precept student nurses and new hires.
