Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO is seeking a Float Pool Patient Care Tech. You will assist with individualized patient care under RN/LPN supervision while supporting a collaborative care team.

The role covers 36 hours per week, night shifts, and may float to ED, ICU, or other units based on experience. The position emphasizes compassion, reliability, and flexibility, with required BLS within one month and completion of PCT competencies within three months.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPCT or in healthcare career program; Mercy co-worker qualifies.
• Experience: Mercy provides 175-hour training if no prior experience; must complete within 90 days of hire.
• Certifications: BLS required within one month of hire; complete PCT competencies within 3 months.
• Other: Physically capable to push/pull 50 pounds; prolonged standing and walking; ability to bend, kneel, twist, squat.
• Preferred Experience: EMT, Paramedic or prior patient care experience; preferred CNA/CPCT certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under RN/LPN supervision.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks.
• Float to various units (ED, ICU, TCU, PCU, Med-Surg, Rehab) as needed.
