Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO is seeking a Float Pool Patient Care Tech working 36 hours per week, nights. The nurse-support role involves assisting with individualized patient care under RN/LPN supervision and floating to ED, ICU, TCU, PCU and other units as needed.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of Mercy's 175-hour training if no prior experience, BLS within one month, CPCT competencies within 3 months, and ability to lift 50 pounds with

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, G.E.D., CNA/CPCT or enrolled in a healthcare career program.
• Experience: Mercy will provide a 175-hour training if no prior experience; must complete within 90 days.
• Certifications: BLS required within one month, CPCT competencies within 3 months.
• Other: Physical requirements include lifting 50 pounds, standing/walking, and flexibility.
• Preferred Experience: EMT, Paramedic or prior patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under RN or LPN supervision.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks.
• Float to various units (ED, ICU, TCU, PCU, Med-Surg, Acute Rehab) based on experience.
