Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO seeks a Float Pool Nurse Technician-NT for 12-hour Night shifts on a part-time basis, 12 hrs/week. You will assist in individualized patient care under RN/LPN direction and perform clinical and support tasks to ensure quality care.

The role requires enrollment in a nursing program, a high school diploma or GED, and BLS certification within one month of hire; preferred CNA/EMT/AUA/CPCT certifications are noted. Benefits apply for part-time staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and enrollment in an approved nursing program; must provide transcripts showing Fundamentals of Nursing completion.
• Provide competency skills list from the nursing school and stay in good standing while in the nurse tech role.
• This program is for nursing students only; if a student leaves the program they can no longer be a nurse tech.
• BLS certification must be obtained within one month of hire.

Position Details

Float Pool Nurse Technician-NT

Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO

Department: Float Pool

Status: Part-Time (12 hrs/week)

Shift: 12-hour Nights, Varies

Qualifications

• Preferred Experience: EMT, Paramedic or previous patient care experience (i.e. PCA, PCT, CNA, or active nursing student).
• Required Education: High school diploma, G.E.D and enrolled in an approved or accredited nursing program. Prior to employment, the nurse tech shall provide student transcripts indicating they have completed Fundamentals of Nursing from an accredited school of nursing and provide competency skills list from their learning institution. The nurse tech must remain in good standing with their school of nursing while in this role. This program is for nursing students only, if a student leaves a program for any reason, they can no longer be a nurse tech
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course required within one month of hire.
• Preferred Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) in the state of practice, Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT).
• Other: Minimum Physical Requirements:
• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
