Float Pool Medical Receptionist - Medical Assistant

Family First Health is seeking a Float Pool Medical Assistant for a Full-Time, 40 hours/week position based out of our George Street Medical location.

Job Summary

The Medical Assistant will work under supervision to provide direct patient care, including medical procedures, medication administration, and treatments. Responsibilities also include documentation, administrative support, patient/family education, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality care following Family First Health policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Travel between multiple locations as scheduled
  • Obtain and document patient chief complaints, vital signs, medication requests, allergies, etc.
  • Prepare exam rooms and patients for visits
  • Collect specimens, handle, and process according to protocols
  • Follow provider instructions and document care accurately in the electronic health record
  • Administer medications, injections, and immunizations as ordered
  • Provide patient education and ensure understanding of treatment plans
  • Assist with pre-visit chart prep and participate in daily team huddles
  • Manage patient flow and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Coordinate referrals, appointments, and prior authorizations
  • Review test results and follow up with providers on urgent findings
  • Maintain medical supplies and equipment
  • Perform lab and office opening/closing procedures
  • Greet and register patients accurately
  • Assist with billing, payments, and insurance questions
  • Schedule appointments and maintain knowledge of insurance processes
Additional Expectations
  • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • Adhere to safety regulations and report errors/incidents
  • Deliver excellent customer service and collaborate on process improvements
  • Participate in meetings and training
  • Travel to other FFH locations as needed
Position Requirements
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program and at least one year of experience
  • Current CPR certification and Narcan training
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology
  • English proficiency; bilingual preferred
